ABOUT
‘Acid Pigeon’ is an experimental essay film drawing on my own personal experiences.
The story features psychedelic drugs, and carries an unreal sense about it throughout, so the noisy, slightly unpredictable nature of analogue film.
Acid Pigeon has two different parts: the more narrative focused part, and a more essay focused part. The narrative section is set late at night, and shows a surreal interaction between a strange, slightly threatening young man, and a young woman which takes place on the street after a party.
The essay part presented as a monologue about my experience of living in the UK and uses footage I shot on an iPhone and a VHS camera. Its ‘real-world’ depiction intentionally lends the piece a documentary feel. Its composition and relative position to the narrative section is inspired by Jacque Derrida’s idea of hauntology but implemented as a formal poetic device. The key example of this is the figure of the pigeon, which occupies the narrative section explicitly and then later ‘haunts’ the essay section.

「アシッド鳩」は、私自身の体験を元に作った実験的なエッセイフィルムである。サイケデリック・ドラッグが登場するこの物語は、非現実的な状況が連続して展開され、アナログ・フィルムのノイズによる夢のようでアブストラクトな映像で描かれる。「アシッド鳩」は、物語パートと、エッセイパートのふたつのパートに分かれている。
全体の構成はジャック・デリダの憑在論からインスピレーションを受けている。物語パートでは、パーティー明けの真夜中の路上で繰り広げられる、少し威圧的な青年と若い女性との奇妙なやりとりが描かれる。エッセイパートでは、iphoneとVHSカメラで撮影された映像の上に、イギリスに引っ越してきた私自身の経験がナレーションで語られる。エッセイパートと物語パートの両方で、鳩が重要な存在として映像を繋いでいく。物語パートで登場する鳩は、エッセイパートでところどころ「存在（憑在）」することになる。
