ABOUT
’Janitor of Lunacy’ follows a young woman’s descent into a digital wormhole via her obsession with a BDSM account run by an unknown user. The film examines social media’s ability to acquire organicity whilst also distorting subjective reality.
Love and emotions towards others can be projected and built up through spending time on - and even obsessing - over a stranger’s social media accounts. Through browsing bricolages of curated images, GIFS and clips (Tumblr) alongside personal photos (Facebook, Instagram) it’s all too common for people to create narratives around people they’ve never met - distorting reality and feeding fantasy.

狂気の管理人は、一人の女性がインターネットを通して匿名アカウントによるフェティッシュサイトに熱狂する物語である。ソーシャル・メディアが社会にもたらす影響と、感情を揺さぶる影響について考察した作品。
知らない人のアカウントを見続けることで、その人への愛や執着が構築される気がする。個人的な写真（フェイスブック、インスタグラム）と一緒に投稿されるランダムな拾い画像（タンブラー）の並びは、現実では会ったことがない人々を想像する物語となり、次第に人々は相手への幻想を膨らませてしまう。
